The ELENOR network is moving forward. In a recent meeting, twelve colleagues from seven countries came together to shape the next steps. This gathering marked an important moment in the continued development of the ELENOR network – a transnational initiative for feminist memory and collaboration.
For those who weren’t able to attend, here’s an overview of the most important developments:
- A shared organizational structure was confirmed – light, dynamic, and designed to support rather than constrain us.
- A roadmap until the end of the year was outlined.
- Work began on a mission statement that translates the ELENOR manifesto into a clear, collective identity and working culture.
- Two new working groups are now open: Mission Statement and New Horizons – both inviting contributions and ideas.
In recent weeks, several changes in communication were also put into place:
- The main communication hub is now the ELENOR group on the communication platform – where all key updates are shared.
- The Signal channel remains active, but is now focused on inspiration and personal exchange rather than organizational matters.
- A new rhythm for posting has been introduced: ELENORtuesday on the communication platform will feature one focused post each week.
The meeting also marked a moment of reflection. Building on earlier drafts, an updated organizational model was introduced – accompanied by a powerful image: ELENOR as a spaceship. One that we are building as we fly it. Light, flexible, and designed for exploration, not administration. This model reflects our current reality: lacking stable funding and fixed procedures, we rely on agility, motivation, and shared responsibility. Projects happen when someone takes the initiative – otherwise, they won’t. This principle of voluntary commitment remains at the heart of ELENOR’s practice.
Still, much is already underway:
- The website of the ELENOR network is online and evolving.
- A newsletter is being set up.
- The ELENOR manifesto has been translated into several languages – thanks to many contributors across the network.
New initiatives also took shape during the meeting:
- The Mission Statement working group has begun its work.
- The website will soon undergo SEO optimization.
- A new group, New Horizons, will focus on strategic directions leading up to the network meeting in November.
As ELENOR continues to grow, it offers space for both expertise and experimentation. Everyone is invited to contribute according to their possibilities – whether to share knowledge, learn something new, or take a first step into unfamiliar territory.
This gathering was a powerful reminder of what we’re building – and how we’re doing it: together, with care and intention.
Stay connected. Stay curious. We’re building something bold – and you are part of it.
